Where have you seen them for $5000.00, I could come up with 5K. They tell me you only need one kidney.

There's three on eBay search using Gibson Franks.
    Throw an offer at them.

If I sold 3 guitars, I could get one. I'm really thinking hard about this. Two Gary Moore's and a 57 RI BB. It seems odd though that if there's only 300 of them, they seem to be everywhere. How many Jimmy Page #2's did they make?

You don't think adding at least 1/4 a pound of metal to the headstock of a guitar is going to affect the resonance? I don't understand how you can go against science on this one...

I agree....Thats why I like the 70's Fender Strats, they had the beefy headstock. I read an article a while back where Yngwie Malmsteen said the very same thing...The bigger, or more mass that the headstock has...the more resonance.

Robin Trower also has the CBS headstock on his Strat for the same reason.

not meaning to stir things up, bit this is from the tonequest report.

"Oh… and the addition of Grover tuning keys absolutely
enhanced the ‘57’s extraordinarily resonant voice, while dramatically
    improving tuning as well."

    jeepers.

Had an eMail from my local dealer today, letting me know they're getting the Tom Murphy Aged Version of the Collectors Choice. And guess what, it ain't called the Melvyn Franks, it's the Gary Moore Aged!

Looks awesome, about £6-7k apparently. Not bad.
