m, I'm "open", if I see a JUNKO 1966 at Philly Show I may buy. I need a "birth" guitar. This git will be my 13th. I want this to be my last one......one can hope...

I'm thinking of the poses I could "strike" with a V. Posing is JUST as important as tone.

If you ever have to defend yourself, the Rev isn't going to be the weapon of destruction the Tele will be. There just ain't enough wood at the neck joint to allow for multiple thrusts, parries or swings. Someone earlier mentioned that the 2 points could be used to take out 2 offenders, but A) you gotta take the guitar off and then swing it around (time is of the essence!) and, B) once the neck breaks, you'll have to get too close to the advancing horde to be completely effective.

The Tele neck ain't gonna break. It's a Tele. Use it as a hammer to build your shed, gig with it later.

    NICE CALL!!!!

    Alright Tim!

    Sooo...

    What'll it be?

    Both?

Honestly, I like 'em both, but I'm leaning slightly toward the tele. It reminds me of the killer ESP dual HB Teles of the '80s.

    Tim,

Question here, have you played a "V"? I have and I personally find the tone to be too thin. You may not find it so for what and how you play, but I do FWIW. I know there are members here who do not think that the wood or the shape of a solid body electric guitar counts for much, but that has not been my experience. Several decades ago, I checked out three guitars from a music store owned by a friend. One was Strat shaped. The other two were variations on the "V" shape. Otherwise, they were totally identical. The Strat shaped one sounded much better to me, but what do I know. So I invited some non-musician friends over and let them hear them. They all agreed with me. The "Vs" sounded puny and the Strat-type sounded good. Now as to the "look" onstage, I wouldn't know. I gave up trying to look good years ago (ain't gong to make it) and concentrated on trying to sound as good as I can. I don't own a "V" (as you could guess) but I do have a Tele-type. It is one of the three guitars I would haul out of here in the event of a major wild fire evacuation.

Big congrats on your professional success, and for what little it is worth, if it were me, I'd bet the Tele.

I've found the V's I've played to have a big rock and roll sound with a lot of Mids. My Reverend V has a big midrange honk and my Gibson V Custom pretty much sounds like a Les Paul with a big midrange and a really nice top end.

I'm funny I never bought a 'dog." Many times I don't even play the guitar before I buy it. I'm never "thin" EVERYBODY says I'm too thick!!!! My #1 Strat I like the colour, I just told Chaka, I want that, pack it up- Tim, you are not a Strat guy- Chaka THE GODS will this. I just took $1300 from the bank. Will it be a V? Tele? Sg? Amp????? Will nothing make me happy? Maybe a jumpsuit?

I had a mid 70's Gibson V for a while. It pretty much sounded just like my 1991 SG. Which was a good thing.

    Another vote for the V.

You already have a Tele. How many doors do you need to prop open anyway?

24 hours until THE PHILLY SHOW. I'm leaning towards a V. Last night I dreamt of Firebirds, not the guitar, REAL firebirds, tearing my flesh, helping me "release." Was this a sign? One P90 in an SG.......I could rule the world with this.
