Great story Austin That stuff never happens to me
But I have a feeling you could handle it better than I can. And to be fair, it happens very rarely to me too, and when I do I never handle it well lol.
I don't know about that, I usually don't even notice it should it ever happen. I'm not the most perceptive of dudes generally... From what you write I think I would have been more annoyed than anything haha!
It's all perspective. I guess when you are lonely/shy/weird af you tend to be more accepting of that stuff. haha I ate it up with a spoon.
Morning everyone. . .it's been awhile.
I've been on a bit of a gear and playing hiatus (2 years) since I had to breakup the band I was in. It left me with some debt and a massive bad taste in my mouth. I honestly haven't been very interested in playing electric and have been playing a lot of Trad Irish accompaniment stuff at a local session.
I won't say I'm baaaack but I did just rebuild my rig and am digging into playing and gear again.
What did I miss?
A few guys said they were done buying pedals. Good to hear from you, B.
One is never done buying pedals. . .
That could be a meme
Glad to hear from you, Bats! This is a much quieter place nowadays, but still active. As you said, one is never done buying pedals.
I just ordered one of these...ETA tomorrow. Should be a lot of fun.....
Welcome back Bats.
Anybody have experience with Vick Audio muffs versus Stomp Under Foot? Is SUF worth the extra bucks? I'm not against spending more if it is worth it... Help me out here. Thanks!
Snaredrum and Kboman would be the go to guys to answer that question.
Did anyone snag any Black Friday pedal deals?
I got a Jackson Audio Prism and a Rockett Animal (new version) headed my way.
What kind of deal did you find on the Jackson?
I had an SUF classic series Tri-Muff. By far the best Muff I've ever used. Still sad it had to go but the realities of life stepped in. It was the 1972 V6 version. Stupendously good.
I have no doubt the Vick Audio stuff is a fine product but I'd go SUF any day if I was given a choice.
$207 down from 259.95. RGS. You have to ask.
I grabbed an Exotic wah from a local mom and pop store today. Only got 10% off but its still something and I'd rather support them over online.
I passed on a used Boss CS-3 for $60 CDN a while back and it went quickly. They're $145 new here. When I was in L&M today, I spotted a used TC Electronic Hyper Gravity for $87.50, vs $190 new, so I grabbed it. I don't know if I even need a compressor. I have four ODs for sustain, but I've been messing with it. As a Black Friday special, all used equipment gets a year warranty instead of three months, so I have lots of time to make sure it does what it's supposed to.
I'm with you man. I prefer to buy in a store. I also prefer to have physical copies of movies and music, but that's for another discussion but slightly related. I guess I'm old fashioned that way.
Sadly, living in the country in the middle of nowhere and the closest store that carries the stuff I like is like 5 hours away in either direction and I'm just not able to go there that often sadly.
But if I lived in a city that had guitar stores that carried quality gear, I wouldn't be buying online.
Well the Rockett Animal new version arrived.
I really really like it. It is better IMO than the big box Animal of yesteryear. Much more gain range both up and down and the bass and treble knobs work great. To me it's an improved Animal but based on the same platform. You have to decide if the "upgrade" is worth it if you have a Pro Series Animal. The Tour Series is very nice though and you should give it a listen when demos become available (there are none now). To me it's much refined.
Still waiting on the Jackson Audio Prism, it's on backorder.
