Kim & I wanted to let the MLP community know that RETROSPEC just received a few sets of Over the Pond's M69 pickup surrounds. These are, in our opinion, the most accurate reproductions of the legendary M69 pickup surrounds available.

Over two years in the making, this newest production run of the mysterious “English Rings” were meticulously cast from vintage 1950s rings, using the correct material (which is apparently very hard to source), in the correct creme color, with all the right markings on the bottom.

These rings will be limited in quantity and availability. We put these up last night, and currently have one set remaining.

    Best,
    Kim & Kevin

Again, it's customary for businesses that post here to give MLP members who purchase a discount.

Does Retrospec provide such a service to MLP members?

Kim and I would be more than happy to do something special. Our first batch of Over The Pond M69 rings sold out really quickly, I’m sorry to report, so here’s what we've come up with for the community:

Throughout the month of January, RETROSPEC is offering a special promotional bundle on our vintage-correct Cellulose Nitrate Inlays and Uncle Lou Premium Tuner Tips. This special bundle will be available to all forum members for $199 + shipping.

    Kind regards,
    Kevin & Kim

that's a killer deal for inlays and tips...

    That's a great deal!

I'm wondering what the correct procedure is to replace those tulip tuner tips? How to remove the Kluson originals and the best way to glue on the Uncle Lou's?

    jesse,
    gotta do 'em yourself

actually, you could probably have a luthier do them no prob, you just have to find the right one. I've done 5 of these badboys... it's not as hard as you'd think. you just have to be really patient.

i know a guy in Sac that had his luthier do a set of buzzy inlays for him and they came out great. if you want, i can get the guy's info to you.

hell, if you wanna do them yourself, let me know, i could help you.
