Speaking of rum, a UK LP site has got a pair of pickups for sale. Don't know what they are, but I can tell you what they look like. Curious way of selling a pair of pickups...

My apologies, Billy. The photo I intended to post was supposed to come from this link:

    http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/member-classifieds/133452-otpg-double-white-pafs-fs.html

Both yours and Joe's look authentic, although I do not own any OTPG pickups currently.

These are pictures of them. They look about right, the seller seems a bit coy about saying what they actually are, maybe because he is short of provenance. Start price is very fair, then just becomes a question of how much anyone wants them I guess...

    Thoughts, anyone?

They look identical to the pickups pictured earlier in this thread. They seem like an absolute bargain.

Well yes, but it's a sealed bid auction, so they might not go for a bargain price. People seem to pay a long way over the original purchase price for OTPG - and I'm guessing to end up owning them you'd have to stump up at least double the starting price in this instance. But who knows? Might be worth having a punt.

Thanks for that, it got me pondering and I am going to increase my bid a little.

    Thanks again.

Well I must be sending some good karma across the airwaves or something (well ok ... and a bit of money i'll admit) because as Liam and Brian both said, a pair of these just 'came to be' for me this week.
Thanks to the very knowledgeable, trusty acquaintance from whence these came.
Having read all 33 pages of this thread... and a few other bits and pieces, I feel very lucky to own these.
I'll report on my opinions once they are fitted and set up.

Depends. You can have them in his standard wind, but lots of them are made a little different. I tend to have them slightly lower output than most. The standard ones seem incredibly consistent.

    Oh dear............................
I guess I'm just a tone freak, never been into perfectly dulled covers or aged/tattered looking PAF stickers.WHY?:hmm:
Are we ever gonna take the pups out and stare at the sticker? And,if we do,are we gonna say "yeh, all that aging was worth the extra $$$$$!" ???
Possibly,we will for a moment pretend we are looking at a real old PAF!
Yet.....reality will say "these pickups sound great...but what I paid for all the aging malarkey adds NOTHING to the tone."
