Oh yea! Totally forgot about gotoh. Thing is, I've recently just acquired a 93 59R, sounds pretty dead in comparison to my Epi Japanese LP. My Epi just has a let more presence when plugged in. Acoustically, you can hear the Epi just has a lot more compared to the ObG. I think its probably gotta do with the set up and the bridge, the ObG one is pretty rusty. Definitely gonna change the caps and pots to my ObG as well. I heard it opens up the guitar a bit.

Gotoh makes the stock bridge for the Japanese Epi LP right? If so, I think i'll just get the entire Gotoh set for my ObG

I'm not sure if your original is also Gotoh, but their hardware does seem to be OEM on many Japanese guitars and is high quality.

^ That is exactly the one I bought, and from that seller as he had the best price. A shiny new bridge on my kind of crusty aged guitar wasn't going to do :)

Probably no reason you couldn't just transfer the brass plate to another Terada ObG CSB LPC without the neck break , no one would be any the wiser :)

MIJ and G are about 0.5mm different. Should fit. I just put one on an Edwards.

Epiphone rings are slightly over 50 mm. and could not fit OK, just check for 50 mm. or AllParts MIJ, those fit OK

I have an OBG Standard and the Gibson rings work....hmm, the only thing I needed to do was slightly open up the mounting holes a tad and they bent right into place. I put them on my OBG and my Epiphone LQ Les Paul. Are the ones you are trying just overall bigger? I am just curious.

The two sets I have tried the screws won’t go in flush, They go in at an angle causing the rings to buckle

Looks like the typical Terada build to me. My 89 Custom has that same mega headstock spread.

Sorry for the ignorance but are you guys talking about the total width of the headstock at the top? There was some difference in widths of my 94 OBG RI GT and my 91 OBG Standard.
It seemed to me that the guitars should be the same dimensions, the 91 is a Terada (I believe) built and looks to be one of the first years they were built. I have read extensively anything I could find about these early OBG's, I have grown to love this 91 as much as you can love a guitar however, one of the things that puzzled me was the fact that it does not have a long tenon and I could find nothing about the early builds not having LT. I have since found an identical one which is the same year and finish as mine which has made me feel a little better. It came with original Yamano Gakki paperwork and an OBG gigbag. My newness to these MIJ LP's and severe GASING has steered me into some blunders.... I have read enough to convince me that these OBG's are not at the top of the counterfeiting business desirables but I still had my doubts until I found the twin to mine on an old auction listing.
