Here is studio recording, might be interesting cause it's one take no overdubs for guitar, bass and drums- the base.
The base of the band including guitar is captured with just one large diaphragm tube mic into reel to reel tape recorder.
Sound of that base of the band is not real stereo but double mono, captured live on tape in the room (no close miking), larger spread of sound is acheived with darbuka and indian tabla paned left and right in the sound picture. Hope it will be interesting to hear something different :)

Here's the latest thing I've played on. The guitars are all done with my trusty Ceriatone HRM into a 2x12 with Celestion G12 65s miked with a Sure SM 57. This was for Colin Mitchell who composed it and plays keyboards, Nicolas Bonneyrat is on drums, and the bass is Sam Terrett. Ambient vocals are by Paula Mitchell. We do these crazy instruments to blow off steam now and then.

I like it A LOT! Reminds me of Tommy Bolin's fusion stuff with Alphonse Mouzon and Billy Cobham. NICE.

This is exactly what I told @Mouse when I heard it, The Doors and Velvet Underground, especially The End! Its that Flamenco style, really like Robby Krieger

I wish I took more recordings of my amps when I had them but I'm kind of lazy so a lot of these bad boys I don't own anymore sadly. That being said I have a few clips of an Excelsior, a Crate VC30 and a Rectoverb that I did.

    Excelsior (Apex 205 Ribbon + SM57 & a Zvex Distortron + V30 speaker):

    https://soundcloud.com/guitarbites/shure-sm57-apex-205

The SM is off the cap edge and the ribbon was used for room mics.

    Crate VC30 Lead:

    https://soundcloud.com/guitarbites/crate-vc30-lead-neck-pickup

This one was a single SM57 about 3 inches or so off the cap. All the reverb and effects were done in post.

    Mesa Rectoverb:

    https://soundcloud.com/guitarbites/mesa-ruinverb

This one was done with an SM57 on the cap and a bit of double tracking.

My 'studio' isn't really a studio perse so much as a room that I occupy so I'm sure a lot of the recordings could go better but I have to deal with what I have. All the mics were run into a Focusrite 2i2 and I didn't do any post processing on any of the tones. Those are all what you're getting straight from the mics. I could probably do them better but I wanted a good representation of the tones you could get without a lot of tweaking (and I do the same with my digital tones as well).
