Garage band using the iphone mic right up against a screamin amp wouldn't sound too bad!
The days of fighting over all this is very much over for me. I like your idea but I can tell you from past experiences.. you won't get much from this group. I have been trying to the these guys to work on a project tune together for a year. Oh, guys say they will participate but you will get nothing. The same 3 or 4 guys are all you will get when it comes to posting recorded material for the group. Except in the Backing Track Of The Month thread in Guitar Lessons. We have a bunch of guys that play all kinds of stuff. Know what. NO ONE ever argues or even comments of the equipment used. It's always complimentary all around by everyone.
I love that and usually can't wait for the new months track to appear.
Hell ya!! Im in,y'all....I was just on the phone to my vid dude. I got my Lollar bridge pup today for the GT and wanted to do a vid for it. Man,this is gonna be fun!!!
That's the spirit BP.. I'm loving it for sure. We gotta get Lefty in here. He is a tube amp playing maniac.
If I play, modelers WIN!
It would be fun to get in the room together with a band and compare sounds. Nothing fancy, just a small bluesrock jam. That's what I'd really like to do someday, but I know my life will never allow it.
Oh man,you are right, frankv, def need ole Lefty in on this....Hes a monster!!!
Dude. I would love that and would fly to you..
Yeah man. We jam together in the backing track thread. I lover his style.
When i get some alone time when the kids are back in school I'll let the phone camera capture the SLX armegeddon machine in action
Before I say anything else, EVERYONE, consider your posts "Liked" The camaraderie and fellowship expressed in this thread are literally giving me goose bumps!
GREAT. "Fire and Water," for sure, but by the original artist: Free. Paul Kossoff is one of my all time favorite players.
NO NO, Brother, that's not what I meant in my post. I was trying to comment on the level of expertise in the sound. Yours is definitely "authentic" tone. When I said "raw" I meant like the self-produced stuff from the NWOBHM. For example, before Mutt Lange (sp?) made Def Leppard's sound what it became, there was "The Def Leppard EP" which is way more raw sounding. "Raw" does NOT mean "authentic" it just means not as "polished"
Sheesh, I can't think of anyone who is more "authentic" than you, Brother Frank.
Ok, am I supposed to NOT identify which it is, weather tube or modeler? I will eventually add one of each to this thread.
Also, not sure of the type of content allowed. Mods, can you please delete if this steps out of bounds in any way? Just me noodling on a couple of things.
Huge LIKE!! I love "Sunshine"
This is what the thread is all about!! I'll be curious to know which it is. I never can tell; either way it sounds GREAT
Nah. Just words in a message. Nothung matters
OK, this is GREAT!!! I love hearing y'alls playing. Let's get some more. Don't be shy, If I can post anyone can (I'm very, very, very self-conscious).
This is a safe place
I like both ways, my Fender Mustang II amp, Lina 6 Pod with a preamp into and out of my monitors. Fun and so creative. I love my three tube amps with the pedal boards, the get Beatles tone sung out by my Epiphone Casino. I feel more like I worked for that sound.
The Copied sounds I get from the Line 6 are great and take little effort. What is better a microwaved back potato or the ones we didn't get very often that sat in the oven for several hour ? Some what a like but not really.
Here's one I filed away to work on one day. Maybe soon.
Yeah man!! I know the computer amp sounds like runny sh!t , but it's fun to hear you play.
I'll see if I can upload something I did with irig and my phone. It's how I keep myself entertained on a ship when yanking it gets old.
Hang on... I gotta hit garage band...
I'll post an entry for the modelers. This is not direct in. It's a Tascam hand held recorder sitting on a music stand in the middle of the room during band rehearsal. It's my Helix into a Yamaha DXR12, with a tube screamer model into a JTM45 amp model, super strat with humbuckers. A little raw, but pure rock and roll baby!
I just recorded this yesterday. 2011 MIM Tele into a 100 Watt Ceriatone HRM with an Xotic SP compressor and a TC Nova Reverb
And another one I did a few months ago with more gain
