I've been doing work for a guy whose friend's Mom has got old instruments (and literally 1000 accordions...), ES-330, LG-0, Epi Wilshire & Coronet to name a few.

Today he brought a few more in and one we just negotiated for.

'64 SG Jr. TV (polaris white)

BIG chunky neck, orig. case, no breaks, all original except for the tuners (soon to have 3-on-a-plate replacements)

    Sorry for the bag-ass pics...

One thing that has me puzzled -

It has fret nibs, so it's obvious that the neck is bound.

    Experts? Thoughts? Custom order?

FWIW, I can't see the nibs. In fact, I'm not sure what nibs are. But the neck does look bound.

On bound necks the binding on the side of the neck is scraped away following the profile of the fret ends.(These look badly done to me,But just an example)

Thanks for the info. Given the example above, I can't see nibs on the OP's guitar. However, my eyes aren't what they used to be!

Polaris white SGs do have "Paint on" binding. They never masked the sides of the fretboard, but i assume most of you knew that?

BTW, so it's not left unsaid, I am not shilling or plugging. What he does with them is his biz, but he agrees that there should be pics made....

Yes, custom colours had the sides of the fretboard painted. However, there were white SG Jrs with bound fretboards as well, with the finish over the binding.
