I was really close to jumping on that one. Glad someone here got it. Congrats!
Its definitely a keeper!!! I'm debating my options of a really pro refin. Looking for quotes now if anyone has any recommendations!
Howcome you're thinking refin? Looks awesome the way it is in my book
just rolling the idea around, its a great player and it sounds great so when. Looking at it as a whole the only thing that doesn't live up to the rest of the guitar is the finish.
Question - did those tuners just drop in? I have the originals on a 58 and they're shot. Want to check other options before grovers.
yup they dropped right in, I used the bushings and screws from the originals.
Also finally was able to come up with a compromise from the seller to get a partial refund for the replacement parts so all is good!
Nicely done! Cool guitar too....congrats!! FWIW I'd save the money on a refin to finance the next guitar or use it to get a quality refret! Either way it looks cool the way it is.
It was already refretted, super smooth player, no buzz anywhere.
Then you are all set. Sounds like a great buy, especially with the rebate!!
Finally got the repro knobs off to check the pot codes.
HNVGD! I love those old P-90s. They just howl.
looks great, leave the finish and play the hell out of it....
or send it to me and i will give you $50 more than what you paid since you cleaned it...
i am pretty sure a vintage junior is going to be my next purchase as i can kill two birds with one stone by getting a P90 vintage 50's jr ...have fun with that one!
This one is pretty special. My 59' special is a good one too next up is gonna have to be a 58 or 59 Jr.
Update! This bad boy ships out tomorrow to Protocaster guitars for a real deal refin back to original sunburst!
As soon as I get some update photos ill be posting them!
Look up Guitar Garage in Boston/Hyde Park Massachusetts. Krishna is a phenomenal luthier & refinish man. Vintage correct accurate finishes are an obsession of his.
+1... Krishna did the restoration work on my '56 Special... his work is incredible.
