It doesn't say how much on the site, but I'll ask. I have been in contact with him
Recently about some pickups so I'll ask. I'm intrigued.

Sorry, I don't think I can offer you any insight on this. I only know the Sweet V59s so far (and I love them).:thumb:

jdto, how would you describe the tone and hotness of the Sweet 59s? I'm thinking of trying them but there really aren't any sound samples anywhere that I can see. Just the description on the website.

DADGAD, did you ever find out how much up-charge for butyrate bobbins?

Unfortunately, I traded that LP in a fit of GAS. From memory, the output was definitely in the vintage range, not hot. They were a bit hotter than the Seth Lovers in my SG, but not as hot as the pickups in my PRS S2. I couldn't give you a more objective answer than that. As for tone, they were sweet when clean and had a nice open, sweet crunch to them when overdriven (as opposed to hotter and tighter with the PRS). I regret getting rid of that guitar and, when I get another LP (I have one in the works), I'll seriously consider another set of the 59s if I don't like t how it sounds with the stock PUPs.

Thanks! Sounds like what I'd want. What about EQ? Bright? Middy? Something more famous they'd have a similar EQ to?

I couldn't really say what they compare to, as I haven't tried a ton. Craig's description on his site does ring true (sweet treble and singing upper-mids). Compared to the 57s, they just seem to have a bit more of everything going on. They felt a lot more lively and open, responsive and musical. The 57s sound good, but there is just a bit more to the sound on these Vinehams. I am hardly a pickup connoisseur, but even I could hear that.

Excellent. The info you've provided is very helpful. Thanks again.

I have been thinking of grabbing a set of Vinehams. I recently picked up a P90 from Sanford Magnetics

I've been putting Craigs pups in some of my guitars for the last couple of years. So far, 59's, 60/70's, and both soap bar and dog ear p-90's.
No disapointments, they all rock. And they were all an improvement over whatever stock pup was in there.
I think you are safe with Vinehams, both from a performance and a value view point.:thumb:

While I can't speak to Craig Vineham's humbuckers, I have used his P-90s and they are excellent.
I recently ordered a Nocaster telecaster type bridge pickup and a P-90 neck for a project partscaster I am working on....
I received them in a few days. Super customer service and a great price!
Many boutique winders take you money and don't deliver in any reasonable time frame. Vineham is the best at customer service.

Good to hear. I just wish he'd put up some samples of his humbuckers. Hard to buy without a sense of what they are like. Quite a few YouTubes of his Strat and Tele pups. Even P90s.

I recovered my Trad with these pups in it and also pulled the covers. I was kicking myself for trading it away, so I'm glad I got it back. I've now got Vinehams in my LP and Tele and a set of his P90s on the way for my SG 70s Tribute. I'm a convert.

Dang. I wouldn't have traded away that guitar. Looks like an R8. Also looks great with the double creams.

Do you ever post sound files? If so, I'd love to hear the Sweet 59s in action. If not, cool either way.

Maybe one of these days I'll give it a go. I don't really have a setup for recording sound files other than a phone. Never mind that I'd have to subject people to hearing me playing!
