Despite the title, I was wrong. This is a 1973. Pot codes are 1377336, dating to September of '73.

Bought from a widow that owns a junk store. Her husband bought it new and played it until 1990 when it was put in the closet with an ugly headstock break/repair. RS Guitarworks spent the last couple months working miracles to correct the headstock issues. Neck pickup is out for a rewind with Fralin and will go back in when it arrives. Has a 1972 T-top under the original cover as a stand in for now.

That serial # and those caps would put the guitar at 1973-74. FWIW

I didn't date it. RS Guitarworks did. And for what it's worth the guitar dater project says:

Your guitar was made at the
    Kalamazoo Or Nashville Plant, USA
    in 1970, 1971 Or 1972
    Production Number: 137318

Nice restore job on a very nice catch, OP! :thumb:

My 2 cents for having been around these guys for a while is that you can take 69GT's word as pretty much gospel regarding older Norlin era Les Pauls.

The man is legend, seriously!

The guitar dater is a project site someone started up a while back to be helpful, but even they admit there are holes and mistakes in their database, so around here it is not used by very many.

HCT is another Norlin era hard core fanatic that has never steered me or anyone else wrong, (yet, LOL!).

These are two of the best in here on the subject. We have lots more. :dude:

Enjoy the heck out of that beauty! :jam:

Very nice guitar and excellent neck repair. Whether it's a '70 or a '74 just play her and enjoy. My '74 LPC is my fav guitar.
