+1 each for me too! :thumb:

    :welcome: to both!

Boy you 2 got the Royal welcome from Mr. Cherrysunburst himself! :wow:

He was the first to welcome me almost a year ago when I joined! Great guy!

Hopefully you 2 will stick around for a while and enjoy the fun and information!

And share some of your own too! :dude:

I just paid $1699 for a brand new 2016 Standard T from Sam ASh during a "blowout" sale. Well worth every penny, and I have not seen mine offered new for under $2299, usually a bit higher. So 1575 sounds about right.

Seems like '16 is gonna go down as a banner year. 58/59/60? Well probably not, but still, a banner year

The Reverb guitar is definitely real and 1575 is completely fair. Go for it!

I agree. Gibson went back to what works. And if you read the 2016 standard page on their website, the pretty much say that.

Well, if I put myself in his shoes, I really wouldn't want to sell it, ha, so especially hard to sell it ridiculously cheap. A 5hr round trip to try it out seems a bit of a trek. But worth it if it means you get what you want.

I'm a bit paranoid now about purchasing the guitar online. I sent the seller a message to see if he'll meet me a portion of the way. I'll turn this into a mini roadtrip with the gf and get some good BBQ/Buccee's along the way.

EDIT: Looks like it sold. The hunt will continue!

BUMMER, Brother. But you're wise to
1)be paranoid (LOTS of Forum members will gladly help you out)
2)take your time. Your first Lester should be special. Don't be a BONEHEAD like I was and sell it later

Yeah, I was afraid of that after a couple members above posted what a fair price that was for that model...

Kinda figured it might catch someone else's eye too....

To be honest I don't feel bad about not getting this at all. I haven't taken the time to really play Les Pauls and understand what features are important to me. Deals will always come by... I should really know what I want before I spend $1500+ instead of a knee-jerk reaction to me getting ripped off.

I know I've already said it a couple times, but this community is awesome and I would like to continue support by purchasing off this forum (if not local). I had one particular member reach out to me with a generous offer ;)

Axio, I bought a 2016 Traditional T this year, stellar guitar, some big box stores still have 2016's in stock, If you call them direct, I am willing to bet you can get 8-15% off list (I did). bought mine from ZZounds. Free shipping, 30 day return, lifetime warranty from Gibson, 0% financing, plus that new guitar smell. Worth checking them out new before buying used at this point... I am so glad you posted your Chibson here and were able to get a full refund! Now is the time to grab a new Gibson LP before they go under, and prices are rising...

I'm so glad to read the happy ending to this story! Although true justice would have been that the pawn shop didn't get their counterfeit back.
