Browsing some pawn shops and came across this beauty and had to have it. :applause:

The guitar came with zero paper work, and I haven't been able to find a pic online of another Les Paul with the exact same specs. I'm pretty curious as to what model it is.

So far it plays amazing, couldn't be more happy.

    Serial Number: 00170423

Pull the front pup and there should be a model # written inside. I can say she's got quilted maple.

Hope I am wrong but.. why does it have an Epiphone style bridge?. That is not a Nashville or an ABR style which it should have.

I'm thinking it's fake now. The pawn shop I bought it from has no returns, but this feels illegal to me.

Gibson should be able to tell you model if you give them the serial number. Call em' up!

    Fake. 100%

Chinese bridge. Wrong screws/locations. Knobs lined up incorrectly. No nibs on a 2000. That's just the start.

What should my course of action be here? I can contact the pawn shop tomorrow morning. I paid using credit so I can also issue a charge back.

    Google this:

    Gibson 00170423

You'll find a bunch of guitars with the same serial.

This was cut with a pin-router, not a file. On a Gibson, it is a more defined "V".

Here's what kind of sucks about a site like ours, though.....
Axiomatik was happy before, and my be bummed out by his purchase now. Nothing has changed about the guitar since he bought it, other than learning more.

Axiomatik, I hope you can continue to get enjoyment from your guitar. Play it. Screw the "labels".

(unless you overpaid, then that does suck)

If they don't give you your money back, after showing them this thread, call the police.

Or the CC company. CC company makes more sense.

If he had picked it up for $150, no harm done.

As is stands, he got really ripped off.

Axiomatik, let us know how it goes.

$150 for a "real" Gibson LP from a pawn shop?

That would have set off the alarm bells off big time..

Axiomatik, I hope my posts aren't seen as "piling on", I just want you to have the evidence you need when you go back to the store.

There's a little bit of salt in the wounds. I should have caught this initially. I'm currently on hold with the credit card company. I'm pretty sure they're going to have me talk to the merchant before doing anything. I'm not really sure what I should expect the credit card company to do.
