I've been interested in a Tribute T for a few months, and I ran across this one on Reverb. I fell in love with the looks of it (I love both the color and the wood grain), and it gives me the chance to put EXACTLY the components in/on it that I want. It may take me two or three months (or four) to finish it, but I am pretty confident it will be worth the wait!

Nice! I don't think I've ever seen a Tribute T with a red back before

Love the top on that :thumb:

I love how they get that round grain part near perfect in around the knobs on all the plaintop tributes. It was one of the things that I loved immediatly on mine as well.

Nice wood grain on that one!

They use to run 10% off sales every so often, but I haven't seen one for a long time. I haven't seen any coupon codes, either. Maybe someone has one to share...

So would you call that a lemonburst or a honeyburst that just ended up more orange than the rest?

The red back is definitely different...

VERY VERY nice. CONGRATS on a terrific score. Which pickups are you going to put in?

I don't know yet. I've got a great set of ReWind PAF-1's (bridge slightly overwound, with a extra short A5 magnet) that I was planning on putting in my Custom Studio, but I could put those in this one. OR I could go with my Vineham 6070's (overwound T-Top Bridge with standard T-Top neck). Or I could get something completely different!

I've got to finish my Custom Studio first, and I need to drill a hole in it for the 2nd volume pot (it will have 2 volumes and a master tone).

I really love putting these together a piece at a time, only putting the components that I really want on there. They're both going to be killer guitars when I'm done with them!

That looks like Honey Burst to me. I'd try those Paf-1's but I'm biased since i love mine! :D

Pretty top ... faux-binding would look great on it, I bet.

I saw these on reverb when I was shopping and was a little intrigued. But I really was thinking why are there so many stripped guitars like this? It just didn't feel right to me for whatever reason.

Stratosphere strips them. They sell the parts, too.

It's a pretty cool way to get a customized, personalized guitar.

Don't think I've ever seen a dirty lemon Trib with an aniline back -- was that a special run for a particular vendor...?

Whatever its origins, that's a pretty cool combo and I look forward to seeing what you do with it!

It really is just crying out for a bit of scraping around the edge of the maple top to create the faux-binding look.

I'd love to have a go at doing one of these stripped-body projects myself at some point but goodness only knows when I'd get around to it. I'd be very tempted to put Bare Knuckle or Mojo pups in one of these with a '50s harness.
