Been lurking, learning and doing a bit of buying.
Very impressed with the knowledge here.

Just received this '82 Tokai LS100 yesterday and wanted to share.
Came with original hardshell case, really happy with this one, pleasure to play :acoustic:

Looks like everything is original, but the pickup selector knob didn't survive the journey.
Anyone know the thread on these?

    Struggled with pics.

    John

Beautiful git! How do the DiMarzios sound? My new Greco EG-59-850 from the same year just arrived today too, it'd be interesting to see how they compare.

    Nice one!
I want an early 80s high end Tokai too. I need it badly!
    I have a 78 Stratocaster to trade.

I've got to say, looking at it again, that thing is in amazing condition for a 1982. I reckon whoever owned my Greco was a smoker; I get that this guitar is 35 years old, but MAN the binding has gotten yellow.

If the switch is original it should be 4mm.

Couldn't you take a razor blade and lightly scrap it, removing some of the yellowed binding?

Green nylon scourer pad corner, maybe a little cut compound

I could but I'd have to re-coat it with lacquer, making the coats uneven, requiring buffing. I may as well just pay the extra and get it entirely resprayed at that point. I don't mind it, I think there's beauty in both glossy guitars and beaten up ones. This one's in great condition aside from the yellowing, and I think without the yellowed binding it wouldn't look right.
