Looks like a clear finish to me.
My CV50's Tele's finish is called Vintage Blonde, but it actually has a slight green tint to it..
And mine should be butterscotch blonde but I feel it is a bit too light than ordinary butterscotch blonde!
Yeah, these CV Teles seem to be somewhat inconsistent regarding the finish colors. I would prefer that the greenish tint in mine wasn't there, but it's not a biggie. As I mentioned, it plays and sounds great.
I think they are a very good instrument here is a picture of my Frankentele CV blonde / CV custom rosewood neck and aftermarket guard, was going for the early 60s vibe
I have that same CV, I don't know about the year though. I had the blonde/white version first and sold it. The one I have now does not get as much love as my other guitars because I have not had the time to sort out the action on it. The action is set about right but the saddle screws are sticking up and it makes it uncomfortable to play. Once I have them ground down some I think it will get better, these are very solid guitars for the money. Congrats on he find. I know everybody likes that black guard on these but I replaced mine with white and it looks very cool.
I played it yesterday after posting here, man the stock pickups in these are sweet.
