Congrats, sweet looking guitar, I've a 89 Obg and love it. Always thought Terada got the colour on their Wine Red almost perfect, but switch out those white plastics back to black it'll look so much better.

The phone pics are deceiving, in person trim is kind of aged yellowing cream. Def not White. But I Do like black trim on red guitars ( changed all trim to black on this Std ) so I very well may give it a go. Pickups do not sound at all like the 57's that were in the Trib + that I just sold. ( tho I know pickups can sound diff in different guitars ) Will pull them when I change strings this weekend. 4556095736066887933-account_id=1.jpg

Ugh, not helping my GAS for a red custom. At all.

57 classics were only on the reissue models made between 93-93 the earlier Orville by Gibsons had the Original Bill Lawrence HB-R/HB-L and then moved onto the Gibson 490R/498T around 90/91? The Bill Lawrence pups are decent pups but if you want to switch them they are quite sought after as they were only fitted for 2/3 years on Gibsons around the same time. I'd imagine they were too expensive so Gibson switched to their own brand stuff.

I had a white 1990 ObG LPC and the binding and body all aged nicely to that tabacco'y yellow, the white plastics are better suited to standards though and it's hard to beat the look of a decent WR custom

Care to do a step by step comparison of your ObG vs. the T+? I've got two Elitist LPs, and a T+.
I would love to hear your opinion!

Since I have a few Japanese guitars, and know the build quality and feel of the instruments, I can imagine a bit what your ObG is like...to a certain extent. The T+ doesn't have the same ring unplugged as my Elitists, just a loud resonant sound to it that sounds wonderful.

My T+ does sustain as much as my E's, tho. And the neck is awesome too.
How do you like the neck on your ObG? 60's slim? 50's? Any other Japanese guitars you have owned?

It appears to be similar to the 60's slim. I like it just fine. It has more resonance unplugged than any of my others. And seems to sustain longer as well. It's just a Bad A** Les Paul ((and I will now sell two of my others cause they're just gonna collect dust from this point forward.....:Ohno:))
