NGD: Minty 1978 Fernandes FSA-80!

    It's been a long time since I posted here. Hello everyone! Cliff, Wulf, Mono, Udo, etc... miss
    Sorry about the rubbish photos. Crazy good condition and the pickups are killer.

    I've been playing more 335 and less Les... love the versatility of the semi hollows.

    Welcome back to MLP... I just came back after a year away and was surprised how much everything got rearranged. All our MIJ LP pals seem to still be here.

    I was lucky to try one similar to yours a friend had. It is a great guitar but with a thin neck 60s slim.
    Fantastic craft (handmade if I recall well)....

    Definitely a thin neck! Fortunately for me, I've never minded thin nor thick necks, tone and action are what I get off on!

    Congratulations Nat, that is a great looking guitar. Nice to hear that the pickups are to your liking. I wonder who made them back then?

    It has that little maple truss rod channel plug at the end of the neck as well, very cool. I wonder where those pickups come from. There are not too many owners of Fernandes from that particular year so it is hard to know much more.

    These FAS are carefully made with great attention to detail and to the highest standards. They ooze quality. If it wasn't to a so thin neck I would own one for sure.

    As far as I withnessed these are not made by Tokai

    Terada Gakki. Serial, tenon, and pup routes are consistent with my FLG-90. Interestingly though, this has the '65+ nut width of 1 9/16ths, despite the FSA-80 being a dot inlay, and thus a '60 copy. 1962 Gibson had switched to small block inlays, and 65 to the narrower nut width.
    Wheras my FLG-90, still Terada made, got the 1 11/16ths nut width correct.

    Ptetty rare with the stone logo too from what I've read lately... congrats! That one looks beautiful!

    The only reason I brought up the logo is because I just put a guitar on hold that has the same thing. It's a 1978 Fernandes Burny special order oxblood R4. Let me try to put up a pic....crap, it won't let me. I'll post pics when I get it.

    Wow! That is nice! Never seen a 335 with that logo before. Just seen the Lp's.

    1 piece neck? Or 3 piece laminate?
