    Pictures first!
Then the long and short of what I've been able to dig up, and hopefully the experts here can shed more light.

But it is an '84 Greco copy of an '84 Gibson Les Paul Limited Edition Super Custom  yeah, I got a headache trying to figure that out.

This is a Greco copy of an '84 Gibson Limited Edition 'Super Custom'. Here's what I found out.

So need to talk about two Gibson models and then two Greco's. In 1979 Gibson made either 3 or 31 Les Paul Limited Editions. These guitars have flamed maple top, sides and back, as well as a 5 piece neck that is also flamed maple. Neil Schon had one of these guitars and used it in the early 80's.

So Greco made some copies of these that have the 5-piece neck and brass truss rod cover that says "Les Paul Limited Edition", just like the Gibson's. These were Super Real era guitars which have been flagged as either EGF 1600 or EGF 2500 whether veneer or solid top. These Super Real era have 5-piece flamed maple neck just like the Gibson. Wulfie found the link below and there are a few posts here talking about it.

In 1984 there was an additional numbered run of these guitars made by Gibson's Custom Shop, exclusively for the Japanese market apparently based on demand for Neil Schon's guitar. These seem to be referred to as the Les Paul Super Custom model. Neck is still flamed maple, but three piece.

Well this guitar is from 1984 and has a 3 piece flamed maple neck like the '84 Gibson model. So it looks like there was a Super Real version copying the '79 model and a Mint Collection version copying the '84 model.

Here's the details on this guitar
    Neck: 3 piece flamed maple
Fingerboard: Ebony with fret edge binding
Inlay: Split blocks as from Gibson Super 400
    Nut: Brass
Top, sides and back are all flamed maple veneer.
Pickups: DRY 82. (Super Real era had DRY Z).

So that's what I've been able to dig up
Have any of the Mint Collection era of these come up before?
Any idea what grade this is? 160?

Came across this video that explains these models and below that are two links that shows the Gibson lineage of these models.

Looks great. Did the original Gibson have the white strip on the horn?

    It plays and sounds great!
But I really like the neck.

I have a Yamaha SA-1200S (ES-335 copy) with ebony fretboard, but the ebony on the Greco is denser and smoother. You have to really look at the Greco fretboard to even see the grain.
I really like the feel of the neck on this guitar.
