Luthier forums are the last place I'd go for legitimate research. The world is full of guitar builders who think that wood breathes and who think that nitro is superior to "sealing your guitar in a plastic finish" despite the fact that nitrocellulose is the world's original man-made plastic.

I'm not a luthier but I started working wood about 45 years ago, and I've yet to see anything other than lightweight white ash sold as swamp ash.

    That thing is beautiful!

I have an EBMM ash guitar, and it's heavy (as ash guitars usu are), can't believe yours weighs that little.

For me, that it had a 50's neck would be a deal breaker, but otherwise it's nice.

    Congrats on your NGD!!!

I'm looking at one of these very seriously right now. I did an internet search and I found your thread. It is part of the 2016 series -- I love the fact that it has a maple neck.

Easy to see why that was a no-brainer. I LOVE seeing wood grain. So what is all the fuss about flames?????

I showed your swamp ash Studio to my wife....and she absolutely loves the unique grain pattern!

My wife has impeccable taste when it comes to wood grain on guitars, and wood products in general. If she says it’s beautiful, then it’s beautiful!!!

Sooooo you’ve got that going for you....which is nice!!
