NGD: Epiphone Texan - a little brother for my AJ

    Saw this beauty at a local store as a b-stock for 100€ less than new and just couldn't pass it up.
    Only blemish I could find is that the finish is a little clouded near the heel, who cares.

    It plays and sounds fantastic, great full and rich tone. I don't think there is much in this price range that sounds this good :bowdown Great action, intonation is almost spot-on too.

    With the 25,5" scale and the Jumbo body, it really is the AJs little brother. They have similar characteristics, the Texan being a bit warmer and darker in sound.

    There is just something about those sloped-shouldered guitars :thumb:
    I like them a lot better than their square shouldered brethren for some reason
    Anyone looking at a really affordable acoustic, I can really recommend this one

    There's someone else who shares your enthusiasm for the Texan model. British feller you may have heard of. He used his to write and record a little ditty called "Yesterday" --- along with quite a few other songs.

    Nah, never 'eard of him, he famous or somethin ?
    Can't be too much of a guitar player, he is holding the darn thing all wrong
