I think that CC is one cool looking guitar. The only thing keeping me from buying one, besides being about as broke as a convict, is the gold hardware. It looks really nice when new but from what I've seen the gold finish doesnt stay very bright for very long. Just my opinion. I do think it looks absolutely KILLER on that guitar tho. Happy new Casino Coupe Day. I'm sure you will enjoy her.

Yeah, just the light playing tricks in my photos. The hardware is all chrome.

It showed up on the 6th finally. I've had a few days with it now, and I have mixed feelings. It's not staying in tune very well, and the pickups are somewhat dark compared to an SG I have with P90's. I can work with the tone, but I'll need the tuning to stabilize. I do like the neck. It's not tiny like my '62 Tele Custom, but not huge either. I play sitting down most of the time, so the smaller body size works great for me. And it's real purty.

Can you say more about the tuning problem you're having? I do a fair bit of string bending and mine is staying in tune quite well. My B string goes flat occasionally; The strings I put on are still quite new and I haven't figured out yet if it's "stretching" or there's some slippage in the tuner. Are you using the strings the guitar came with? I am considering replacing the tuners; I prefer the vintage keystone style and I may decide to get a locking type as well.

As for the P90s I think they sound great, but I'm comparing them to my humbuckers; I don't have another guitar with different P90s.

The vintage sunburst looks terrific in your photo. If I hadn't already had a VS Dot I would have gotten the Coupe in VS. I do love its light weight and large, acoustic sound unplugged.

I should say the tuning has been better this evening, so it may have been just the new strings needing to stretch out. They are the strings that came with it, except for the 1st string. I broke it, or rather it came unraveled at the ball end. I've never had that happen. Maybe I just got a bad set.

I can't judge the tuning machines yet. They feel OK, but we'll see.

Might need a little tweak at the nut slots too. Most new Epis do.

By the way this case still has a strong chemical smell which I guess is glue/solvents/whatever out-gassing. I'm leaving it open during the day and hoping it will eventually take care of itself. Oddly the Epi case I bought for my Dot had no odor at all right out of the box :hmm:

I bought the ES339 case also, and mine doesn't have a strong odor at all.

And the tuning has been much better in the last day or so. I hope I didn't scare anyone away with that.

Glad you're case doesn't smell like chemicals - hopefully mine eventually won't too. Google shows it's not an uncommon problem. Good news about the tuning too. I stretched my strings a bit more and that seemed to take care of it.

That's a great picture of your Coupe! :thumb:
