I saw that BCR Greg had updated his inventory the other day and when I saw the Casino the gas hit hard.:naughty: I live about 1.5 hours from his shop. He put my name on the guitar during our phone call and said come on and check it out.

If you are ever in the Harrisburg, PA area you owe yourself a visit to BCR Music. It's the kind of place where you just want to hang out and they're completely cool with that. Greg and everybody there were awesome. He even flattered my girlfriend. He also let me play his '57 Junior and Rist Workhorse. I really thought I'd never see a Rist guitar in person, let alone fondle 1.

Of course I ended up buying the Casino. She's a 2005 and has definitely been played, but overall in great shape and what an incredible sound. I just cleaned her up a bit with some Mother's Carnuba wax.

Sorry for the crappy flash pics. I'll get her outside for better shots.

A couple of questions for the Elitist set -
Did they ever come with a black pickguard?
The pickguard was off, in the case. It's black and fits, but doesn't look exactly right. I doubt I'll put 1 on, but just curious.

I'd like to change the knobs to amber. What fits?

The truss rod cover is an Epiphone E. Anybody know where I can get the elitist engraved cover?

I'm just thrilled with this guitar. I can't believe my good fortune in being able to get 1 of these.:dude:

First, congrats on a really nice fiddle. Let us know how she plays.

I'm not sure about the pickguard color. I think it was Black though. Don't hold me to that, as I'm not certain.

The knobs are probably metric. You'll be able to find them on the "Bay" and a host of sites as well.

And the truss rod cover... I have a guy that I get a lot of parts from. He actually makes custom truss rods covers. He'll engrave whatever you want on them. Here's his eBay store:

Congrats on the axe ! I'm not a Casino man but if it's built anything like the 5 Elite/Elitist that I've owned than it is a fine guitar.

I played an elitist and I loved its tone. I tried a few beatles tunes but when I cranked the gain it was a pure eargasm!! I even played a shred lick and it sounded perfect. I wish I had the €400 on me that day
