    Hi there guys!

    Just received this babe!
I had a 1995 RLG KS 75, sold it, and i paid a little on top to get this RLG-120 beauty!
One piece back and the top is solid. I think it's an 83 model. I posted info on the Burny identification thread to find out.

    Here's some pics.

Nice one, you can generally date Burny's from the pot codes if there's no serial. looks like the bottom number is 1N K so that'd date it to November 1981. Well it dates the pots to November 1981 but the pots were used up quickly so is generally a reliable guage of the date of manufacture.

Congrats, that's a really nice one! The pickups should be L8001's right, if it's 1981? The RLG-120 & 150 were only produced from late 1981 to early 1985.

Wow... I really like that one. Hopefully it is a player to match, it puts off sweet vibes. Josh

No label or stamp on the pickups. Here's a photo.

They look the same as on these examples.

Some more pics of the other pots indicating a "2" in the front.

Can anyone date this guitar guys? I thought it was an 83 initially. That was what i thought from searching the forum and other MIJ guitar info sites. Now i am thinking it's an 82.
Can someone say for sure? I think it's all stock except the front pickup ring. I replaced both with some 1980 Tokai LS-80 pickup rings however they are not curved at the bottom as the Burny ones. If anyone has a set to sell, i'd be grateful.

It looks to have the early zebra, braided wire, silver bottoms and grey capacitors VH-1 pickups. I can't say for sure though, the experts will have to chime in. Sure looks like a 2 on the pot.

The last pot you posted a pic of shows as 26 K which would date that pot to June 1982. It all depends if you believe the pots are original, which they look to be so you'd obviously take the newest dated pot. As Thomas said they were only made 1981 to 1985 so 1982 seems as good a guess as you can probably hope for without a serial as I don't think there were any noticeable changes between that 82-85 period.

Jacco is the Burny expert but don't think he posts much on here cos of the heavy handed mods but you can find him on the Tokai Forum site, you can download the catalogues at http://www.fernandes.co.jp/catalog/ to see if there was any change in spec 81-85.

I PMed Jacco and waiting for his reply.
I've already checked the catalogues which list RLG-120 from 82-86 as i don't have the 87 one.
Nothing there to see, especially when not knowing to read Japanese. ;)

    I measured the pickups ohms.
    Bridge 7.65
    Neck 7.61

It appears that the neck one is not always the same.
Seemed to be fluctuating everytime i measured.
    I was getting a reading of 7.59-7.70.
Now it seems stable on 7.61.

    Are they the "original" VH-1s?
