This is going to sound like an echo since zumzool just posted about his. It was actually his post that drew my attention to the close out price that CME had on it. I am in heaven. I am not a big fan of VOS or flamed tops so I have been patiently waiting on Gibson to come out with another line of 355's with gloss finish on a plain top.

The bigsby is stable-ish but could used a little lubrication on the saddles and nut. Does flutters perfectly but with a little effort, it will send a couple strings out of tune.

Gorgeous, plaintops are the big winner on these style guitars

Beautiful, I almost got the vos version of this but opted for an Es les paul instead. Ditto on checking the nut. The slots on my lp were cut very tight. Gave it a hit of thin abrasive cord (stew Mac) and it worked great.

Thanks everyone. I have been playing this nonstop and I am just blown away. I had to leave it for the week while I am out of town but will get to gig it for the first time on Saturday.

Charlie Gelber from OK Guitars once described it like this: The 355 is a 335 dressed for the ball. I think he's perfectly right on this, beautiful guitar, congrats

Indeed. Akin to the venerable black LP custom, the "tuxedo" LP.
