IMG_3273.jpg IMG_3274.jpg Well, this is my first real posting in the Gibson forum, I've been in the Epiphone side until now. I went to Sweetwater today to compare the new Studio with the Classic. While the classic was VERY nice, the Studio is too. Binding on the neck, classic 57 pickups ( coil tapped). I just couldn't justify the price difference. Now, I'm thinking on replacing the black plastics with cream and adding a poker chip. Do you think it would look weird like that since there is no binding? At the very least I'm adding a black poker chip.

Very nice!! Congrats. I am really digging these Studios with binding.

IMO, just put on the poker chip and leave the rest the way it is. The black looks great on it and it's all set-off so nicely by the bound fretboard.

Thanks man. I think you are right. This guitar plays just perfectly. I couldn't be happier. Inlike my Epi and my strats, but they aren't going to be getting much play time for a while.

You'll have to get a star sticker for the headstock.

This look was my motivation. I was just worried about the last of binding on the body making it look off. I can tell by the mock-up that @Who did for me, it wouldn't be an issue.

Congrats! Change knobs to amber too, if you are changing your plastics to cream.

That's what sealed the deal for me. Other stuff can be changed.

I was on the fence over the weight relief, but after getting it home and playing a while I think it's a good thing.
