    Out for delivery right now...
Never even played an SG before, but I do like strats so I was told I would like it.
They were gonna deliver the guitar early on Saturday, but I picked up an extra shift and missed it. I’m usually their last stop so I expect it around 6:00 PM.

Needs heavier strings, but it’s flawless. I was a little surprised. It was hard to get the Gibson box out of the sweetwater box, but I managed. It’s got more case candy than my R9 had. Decent, but cheap strap, and a multi-tool! I remember when they stopped including the truss rod wrench, so that was a nice surprise. I’ve wanted the brown Gibson case for awhile now so that’s a nice bonus. Smells good, feels good, sounds good. So far I like these 61 humbuckers. It’s an excellent guitar and time will tell if I’m an SG guy or not.
Sweetwater took those photos of my actual guitar, so I thought I’d throw them in as well.

I’ve always been fond of the idea of the SG, but it was never high on my list. It’s got everything I wanted in an SG, but I’m still getting used to the thin neck.

The SG is very sensitive to the weight of tuners, how is yours with the Grovers ?

The finish is cool because the back is not dark

It’s just on the edge of neck heavy. It doesn’t dive, but I can feel that it would if it could. If that makes sense...

Grats on the SG ! Looks nice :) I use a wide leather strap on my SGs and experience no neck dive.

I just put 10s on her, tightened the truss rod, and lowered the bridge all the way down. Lowest action I’ve ever played without fretting out anywhere. I’m a little surprised. I have a Faber abr bridge and tailpiece I’m gonna throw on her as well, but the bridge studs got sold with my Les Paul a few years ago, so I had to order new ones. I should be able to get some pics up next weekend for that.

...and the upgrades begin... I love the look of those SGs, with the slight burst. I like the straight red ones, too, but after seeing 157,999 of them, a little classy variation is appealing. Great guitar at a really nice price. Gibson manages to screw many things up, but they've been doing a great jobs of the necks and setups on those. SGs can play beautifully -- witness F Zappa. Love the Rotomatics, too; Klusons are cruddy.
