Had my eye on these for a while, and when AMS dropped the price from $899 to $809, I jumped. She arrived in a sealed Gibson box, and fit & finish are outstanding. I tweaked the nut slots and relief to my liking today, and she plays like a dream. I also installed a poker chip, and a blank truss rod cover I had lying around. I wasn't sure how I'd like the satin finish, but I dig it, and I really like the natural binding...my only minor gripe (and it's not really a gripe so much as an observation) is that the thin finish isn't as durable as a full-blown, high-gloss finish - I managed to put a couple tiny dings in the top while installing the poker chip. It's OK though, good to get the first dings out of the way early, and move on... It's got a nice center-matched two-piece back, locking Grovers, and man, the P-90s sound great. I had to jack the tailpiece up pretty high to get the "slinky" factor where I wanted it, so I may consider top-wrapping at the next string change. I've really wanted a Goldtop (and an LP with P-90s) for a long time, and I like the way the stripped-down appointments set it apart from my '95 and '16 Standards.
