Thank you, Donal!
Perfect timing! Check out what just arrived:
Beautiful R9, and the color is fantastic!
Great color on that. Congrats!
Nice score (for both guitar and pickups)
What are the specs for these beauties?
What's nice is you don't need the sticker to let you know what you're playing! You feel it immediately! Beautiful guitar and congratulations!
Yes they were the first pictures, right out of the case. She's naked now, if I can say so!
Thanks! I love your profile picture by the way!
7.7k and 8.6k.
Congratulations! I know you'll be pleased and more so; the longer that you own and play that new Standard.
Seventeen years ago, I bought a new Les Paul Classic (see avatar) and all these years later it still sounds great; maybe even more now that the wood has dried out. Your's should do something similar over time. As mine has, it should develop more of a ringing tone with added sustain.
Those new pickups you bought should show off the tone that I'm writing about. They are supposed to be a clear sounding set. Here's hoping you enjoy many happy and rewarding hours with your new main squeeze.
Wow, thanks! That is a congratulations message! Nice axe you own too!
Actually, my oldest Les Paul is around fifty now. You can have a look at it here. I didn't post this thread in the "Vintage" section though because I'm not able to prove her age neither that she's a genuine Gibson except from the seller's word and my luthier's expertise... Despite my mistake about the PU finish (and I still regret this): what a guitar!
Beautiful! Long may you enjoy
Congrats, jealous here. Beautiful, but more importantly how's it sound? Why the instant PUP change? What don't you like about the CBs?
She's a beauty. Congratulations.
Sweet like velvet...
Well, that's an other story:
I ordered the PG for another LP that I wanted to buy but which was not crunchy enough to my ears (that's how PG an Antiquity became an option). But someone pulled the trigger just before me (another vendor of the store sold the guitar to someone else without knowing I was interested too) and I missed the guitar while the pups were already on the way.
The truth is I don't know yet if I am going to replace the CBs by the PGs or not. I'll will play a couple weeks or so with the CBs and decide then.
