I’ve wanted a True Historic Les Paul since they first came out in 2015 but the price for a new one here in the UK was out of my reach, the only way I was ever going to own one was to buy used. Originally I was looking for one in Vintage Cherry Sunburst and hadn’t really considered any other colour. So when I first spotted this one for sale I didn’t really consider it as an option, but as it was located only an hours drive away I thought I’d have a look anyway. I’d never seen a Vintage Dark Burst in the flesh before so was curious about the colour, in pictures they sometimes look dark brown and sometimes a very dark maroon red which I prefer. As soon as I opened the case it was the colour I hoped it would be, a beautiful deep red with a nice curly flame. I remember thinking to myself ‘oh dear that looks awesome!’ So after a quick noodle and negotiation about the price I was the proud owner of a TH59. The other guitar on the 2nd pic is my 2014 R9.
