I stared at that thing enough in January and had just about gotten over it and now you had to go and bring it back up. That's such a wonderful piece!

    That is awesome Donal! :applause:

My '91 Special turned heads with its tone every time I plugged it in, also. It is still my tone standard after all these years.

Walnut, big guard, unbound, dot 'board, ABR, witch hats; that might be the quintessential SG for me.

How in the heck have I missed this for the past 4mos? Geez, this thing is awesome Donal. HBNGD (B for belated). I love white and blue SGs. And an ebony board?... too cool. Do you know what the factory pickups are? My 97 has 490R/498T and I like them way more than I expected to. Tried a boutique PAF in the bridge, for a day, but went back to the 498T... it just fits an SG well. And yes, the weight factor is awesome. Have you put it on a scale yet? Mine's just 6.71lbs.

Anyway, glad to see her getting some play time! :D

    Again??????? Stop it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!! :rofl::rofl:

Since you spend so much time performing with an LP, I'd be curious to hear how you like "wearing" the SG? Different shoes fit different people. Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's because I've always been a 335 guy. When I take off the 335 and put on the SG, it just feels right to me.
As much as I love and respect LP's, I've never really been comfortable with any of the ones I've tried to love. I put on the SG and it just feels like "this is gonna be fun".

    WOW! :wow:

Those are the bee's knees! :thumb:

If they make them in gold I think you may have answered my covers on or naked zebra dilemma!

I don't like the loose wires that are wrapped around the coils just left out in the breeze, so this could be the answer!

    Thanks!:dude:

You can see the wire on top of the bridge pickup...

I love the SG, I seriously love playing it and I love the sound and I now play the SG for much more than half our songs.

The only problem I sometimes have is that sometimes I tend to go to the wrong fret. Especially if I look down and estimate the distance from the body. If I look from the headstock perspective I have no issues as it is like the LP. - If that makes any sense reading :hmm:

This is definatly a real keeper and with my Classic now one of my two go to guitars. (Classic is at home and the SG in the band room).

'Trying to hide from the Les Paul Section as I am not allowed to buy any more Les Pauls...'

Been down the 'See, I didn't get the 'Vette, I got the Cobra' road successfully once.
    Further attempts were thwarted.

    That thing is a beaut.
