I just got this in on Friday and have had a hard time putting it down since then. It started its life as a first-year '57 Reissue goldtop, but was sent by the previous owner to Historic Makeovers for the Deluxe package last year, where it got an Ebony refin, Braz board, upgraded logo, etc. I swapped out some parts and wired up some OX4 Ed King pickups in it yesterday, so now it really feels like mine. :)

Thanks to @thunderroadguitars for hooking me up!

Here are some shots I took today...

Dude, I like this a lot. And the double cream/covered combo is really cool. Grovers too. The whole package is awesome. Who needs 2017's?

Damn. That is a beautiful guitar. How do those OX4 Ed King pickups sound? I have to look into those.

    Love it, congrats!

Believe it or not I'm actually looking for a suitable R7/R8 to do the exact same thing!

Thanks! I actually had this set in another guitar that will sadly have to go due to this one, so I've grown quite accustomed to them. I've been really happy with them, especially the neck position. It's got a really smooth nasally quality. It's a zebra like in Ed's "Redeye," but I decided to leave it covered for now.

That guitar would look killer up on a stage. Honestly, the perfect stage axe IMO. I really did it. Very cool. Congrats.

very nice, congrats, I would have been tempted too. Everybody knows I prefer a Blacktop over an all black and if anybody got bitten by this bug by this thread, check this one out. Man, I wish I would have seen it a year ago: http://www.marksguitarloft.com/picBrowser.php?id=80043

Very nice... did HM make the horn sharper too? '93 horns are more rounded like the normal USA models. Yours looks like a later historic cutaway :dude:
