My Phaez amp was just too much for my 1x12 cab.

I was going to have a cab made, but by the time it would be finished, it would cost more than a used 4x12 already the way I want it.

    Bought this used 1960 JCM900 IMG_20170929_135636_675.jpg

Doubt my UPS man was too thrilled.
After it arrived, I took the back off to verify what speakers were in it. Was a nice surprise too see they were made in England.

    Congrats!

Those are the original speakers for that cab.
Some replace two of them with greenbacks for a mixed tone.
Top left and bottom right kind thing.

    Anyway, nice find!

Made in England Celestions AND UPS didn't destroy your cab? You should be out buying lottery tickets. :laugh2:

I've tried a few cabs with greenbacks and v30s, those always sound good. But I like the way this cab sounds already.

Hope you're not planning on powering that cab with a tube amp...they're on borrowed time you know... :laugh2:

I still stand by my post on that.

If I was a session guitarist, I'd have a Kemper in heart beat. My dream amp is a Friedman BE-100. But for the price I'd pay for that, I could get the Kemper and have so many other amp options available. If I had to gig night after night, no way in hell would I want to deal with this monster.

It depends on the amp. Most amps I keep the mids at noon. Some of mine, need a little bit scooped.
