Are the fret markers really orange or is it the late evening sun (golden light) effecting them?

No, it's the light. They are not bright white by any means, more of the vintage looking "clay" color. Hadn't noticed it, but yes, the light gave them an orange tint in this picture.

Beautiful customer strap from Longhorn Leathers really completes the package...still just blown away by this thing.

Very nice. For the people that don't like aged guitars I think the Journeyman relics are a nice go between.

I totally agree............I was very hesitant to get a relic of any kind. I picked this one up and it honestly looked like a good condition used guitar that had been played a lot but not abused. It is perfect and fits in the all my other guitars (I tend to buy used anyway).
A friend of mine asked what the journeyman relic was like and I said "It's like a great guitar that's been played a lot, but taken great care of....instead of dragged behind a truck on the highway like the heavy relic's"
