This is very interesting...a creamy yellow color Custom from the 1977.

I'd be curious to see if there's a color code in the pickup cavity of the OPs 78 Custom?

I love the way white ages into a creamy yellow. I have an old creamy white/yellow Fender acoustic that plays pretty well. Definitely a cool looking color.

I have a '78 as well. Should be a non-pancake one or two piece body, a 3-piece maple cap, and a 3-piece maple neck. Boat anchors but they'll punch you in the gut with their big focused punchy tone.

That about sums them up. Nothing quite like one, really.

It' a beauty no doubt, but also little doubt it was a "cream" color out the door! I've never seen a arctic while yellow that much with such ubiquity.. :hmm: ... but I have been proven wrong before too!

    Well Folks,
The '81 that I recently got is even a tad more yellowed than this one, and though I haven't yet fully disassembled, I can tell you that it was originally a kinda creamy white, as evidenced by the edges of the wear through on the back of the neck and a few little dings/chips here and there!
    Great Looking Custom!
