Actuay not true, Gibson did that in the '90s with the USA Blueshawk.
What did Gibson do in the 90s with the Blushawk ?
Make a dummy coil in the back that was between the two pickups
Yay, hey Mark, good to see you active mate.
Left an invitation to the Epi Brethren social group and friendship request a while back, hope you join in. There should be some notice links just under where you login.
Thanks for the welcome.
I have been following the forum, just haven't posted.
I have noticed familiar faces here.
Hi Brian, been a member for over a year and not really sure why I haven't posted in the past.
Will be correcting that.
join the festivities
It would be nice if they introduce some more left handed models, i've been GAS-ing for a 335 type guitar quite some time
That Sheraton looks awesome
Thanks Rob, I have accepted the request (I think).
A little different forum.
I had no idea that I had Notifications until yesterday.
Will be more active this year.
Two optional cases are also available--a black Epiphone Standard Hard Case or a grey 1960s Style Vintage Hard Case. See your Epiphone dealer for details.
That's pretty cool they give you the option of cases. I'm guessing this is going to be in the $800 range given the spec. Let's see what they show at Namm.
it seems that since few days Masterbilt DR-500 and EF-500 are not anymore available on the biggest european music shops... does that announce a phase out for these models to make place for the new masterbilt ?? is that the same in the US ?
update: Nope, DR-500MCE at least is back online...
Now it seems they have shut down the 'pending models' site completely...
Are they a little behind? Did someone post that 'pending' page a little prematurely? Or has it just been taken down as all the models are going up on a 'new for 2015' page very soon...
It does seem a little strange posting a 'pending' page, I can't see a purpose to it other than to get people talking, which it did, then threads and page get pulled...
this pending site was mentioned for their big retailers, to preview new models - and to place preorders...
so they can decide if a model needs to be build by huge demand or not.
the site was never planned to go public at all....
they just don't want us guys looking behind their curtain
we need to be a little creativ with the url.... maybe we get lucky
A friend of mine is going to NAMM in two weeks.
We'll see what's in the booth...
the new big affair : epileaks
Which new Epis will we see in 2015? Only Kim Jong Un knows!
I'm hoping that they update the pickups in the dot/335 type guitars.
I'm really interested in picking up a semi hollow to mess around with without spending Gibson Memphis money. but I'm not at all interested in paying for a new guitar and then having to go through the hell of rewiring through the F holes to get rid of the god awful Alnico classics that Epi insist on putting in these
If they update to their newer pickups I'd buy one like a shot.
I already have a bunch of amex points amassed so that it wouldn't cost me a penny
I guess if not I'll have to wait for a really good deal on a used one to come up to make the hassle of a pickup swap worthwhile
