Hey MLPers, First off, I want to apologize for the poor site performance we've been experiencing lately. Like many of you, I, too, was frustrated about all of this slowness and double posting. I've tried to optimize the server and forum software some more, but that didn't do much. So, I went shopping around online and got us a new dedicated server! Once MLP is transferred to the new server, which should be complete by the end of the week the latest, we all should notice a significant improvement in site responsiveness. Here are the new server specs: New Server 2 X Dual Processor Hex Core Xeon X5675 - 3.07GHz - 2 x 12MB cache w/HT (12 virtual + 12 hyperthreading = 24 core) RAM: 12 GB DDR3 Registered 1333 First Hard Drive: 300GB SA-SCSI 15K RPM (OS/files) Second Hard Drive: 100GB SSD (database only) Operating System: CentOS 6.0 (64 bit) Old Server Dual Processor Quad Core Xeon 5430 - 2.66GHz - 2 x 12MB cache 6 GB DDR2 Registered RAM 147GB SA-SCSI 15K RPM Hard Drive (files only) 73GB SA-SCSI 15K RPM Hard Drive (database only) CentOS 5.x Operating System (32 bit) The server has been ordered already and is in the process of being set up by the datacenter. The next step is to configure, harden and optimize the new server. I'll keep you guys updated. Thanks for your support and patience.
