Happy New Cab Day to me! I've been looking for an alternative to my 1936 2x12" or a couple different 1x12" cabs. There's no doubt everyone loves the solid tone out of a 4x12", but I'm getting to old to lug those beasts around. I found a 1989 Marshall 1965A 4x10" in decent shape with the original Celestion G10L-35 speakers. I measured the DC resistance and it was around 13 Ohms. I thought these were supposed to be wired series/parallel and 8 Ohms. Is this going to be a big issue?

None of my 16 ohm cabs actually measure 16. Most are between 14-15

Congrats. Great cabs. Had the 2x12 version (1966A) some years ago.

Congratulations. 13 ohm DC resistance becomes roughly 15 ohm impedance.
So your cab was probably sold as a 16 ohm cab.

A big congrats to you, those are awesome cabs indeed and still quite under the radar for how good sounding and portable they are. :)

I have one sitting next to me in my office with my Dsl 50 watt head on it. Sounds fanatastic.

    Enjoy yours in good health.:h5:

    Update:
Turns out the wiring loom to the bottom pair of speakers was loosened during shipping. I reconnected everything and it is back to 8 Ohms now!

I really want to believe you scored an old 4x10, but....

They listed it as a 1989, but the speakers all have a matching Jan 1986 date codes on the frames.
