I'm building up a 2017 American Standard Tele in Seafoam green and I wanted some opinions from the "Fender" dudes at MLP. Now, I know the hardcores won't like the channel bound neck but I have two channel bounds and I love the feel over any Tele neck. They are spectacular to play. With that what do you all think of this concoction.....

I think it'll be an outstanding guitar when it's all built.

I'm a huge Surf/Seafoam Green fan, and I can't wait to see it all done up!

Thanks much. I had to ditch the tuners because they won't fit and I'm sure not drilling. Wasn't paying attention to the fit I suppose. These are now the new "pearl" Fender locking ones instead.....

Well since it isn't maple I have no opinion. :)

In all seriousness I think channel bound is pretty cool. Should end up being a cool looking guitar.

I would call it rather an assembly than a build. But it looks awesome anyway.
I really like that neck, didn't know they do these wood binding necks at Fender, really nice.
And for the body I like surf colors as well, good choice the pearl tuners.
You got good taste, forget the hardcores, my first choice for a Tele is a humbucker in the neck so imagine :)

Looking forward to see pictures of the progress!

None of that goes together; it will be a total disaster once you're done. But I'll take all that junk off your hands for free.
On a more serious note--I think that you will have a BITCHIN' guitar! Good luck with it!

You had me at the channel bound neck!

I always end up thanking @Crotch for introducing me to them. Some day hope to own one! Looks good Fro-Zone!

Thanks for the replies guys. Appreciate the input. Here she is in her cerrent state wiating on a mildly aged pickguard from Germany. Then she gets her strings, setup, and an initial photographic beauty session.

I see you have the same troubles I do when photographing on the table! Over head light reflections!:mad2:

Yea, It seems anything I photograph has some kind of adverse effect in it. Never notice til after it's posted either. I'll try to get the "real" photo session right.

    Thanks Darrell! :cheers2:

I have found that when taking mine that I have to move the POV of the camera around a bit till it minimizes the reflections. They may still be there, but they are off to the side or just a pinpoint of light instead of the whole fixture.

Be gymnastic! Up, down, walk around the table....

Overhead glass chandelier over this table. By walking about and bobbing and weaving I found this angle with minimum interference

This one shows the lamp between the pickups, for example.

LOL!!! You are too kind! Thank you!

And those are crappy cell phone pics. I tried using the good camera but indoor light made everything yellow!:mad2: When I tried to fix with cheapy app it came out pink!

Same thing with Canon camera and 3 overhead ceiling lights

    You can see them here..

A pinpoint here, oh, also this angle made the carve really stand out as the light reflected off of it. Any more or less and the carve darkened and blended back in.

If you get bored and really want to hurt your eyesight (LOL!) all of these shots and more are in the pickups section under my 2017 Shaw revival thread...

Hipshot has really nice locking tuning machines. Put them on my build. (USACG Neck and Body)

I also used a Babicz FCH Bridge, an Analog Man Big T Neck pickup and Voodoo Lab TE 50 Bridge Pickup. Warmoth has the best custom Tele pickguards and I went with a Matte Black 0.090 thick 5 hole. NICE!

Stratosphere has the Fender Tele Elite cases on eBay occasionally. Nothing but the BEST!

Hope you love yours as much as I love mine!

Congrats on yours. :) I got a killer deal on a Fender G&G case for it. I love it. Here is an informal snapshot as she sits in the case for "walk by" viewing. It's technically finished, only needing strings; however I'm waiting on a pickguard to put on first.
