I am having a hard timing getting the feel of the part of this solo that starts at 0:35 in this video:

I can play it pretty fast but just can't get it to sound right, is it just that its all happening really SUPER fast and I can't keep up? This guy plays it at 60% speed after and I have no problem playing it that slow..

why is this not embedding? Anyway - its' "Are you gonna go my way" Lenny Kravitz

Can you post a video or clip of yourself playing it? Otherwise it's just a guessing game.

One of my favorite solos by the way. Tore a page right out of the early Clapton playbook on that one.

Uhhh I could but it would just be a train wreck when I get to this part, I'll do it though!

I guess what I'm asking is if its simply a speed thing. When you look at it played slow, it is REALLY those same notes played super fast because it doesn't sound that way to me...

I dont think its a speed thing because its really not that fast at all.

Like most of my students, its a familiarity thing. Make it your lifes mission to be able to play e minor pentatonic in all 5 positions backward and forward in your sleep. This takes years. While doing that, learn every sequence you can. Groups of 3, 4, 5, 6 whatever.

You just need to build the chops you do not have yet. It takes a lot of work and a lot of time.

Further opinions I need to see video of you trying.

Ok thanks Joey, you're a good dude!
this is e minor pentatonic in the first position and I do know that in my sleep, which is why this is odd to me. However, I am pretty new at trying to play kick ass solos like this one so I think I see your point.
