    Hi all
I need a little help with static after an upgrade in electronics, wired it up with the 50's style wiring.
Now I have quite a bit of static coming from the amp. Looking for some help to get rid of it please.
The upgrade was done on a gibson 2017 tribute les paul. took out pcb borad and added new pots and wiring.
    Thanks

Touch strings/metal and then clear body from metal. Is there a difference?

If it doesn't quieten when touched, I would check all grounds.

I have found 50's wiring to exhibit a slight touch more noise under high gain conditions...

It is not an issue with me as I do not play with nuclear gain and m hands are usually always touching strings or anchored at top bridge end with heel of hand or fingers...

As Philbertius is fond of saying, what does it matter once the drummer comes in.....

checked all grounds and they are all good. I don't use much distortion. I run clean amp and 4 gain and 5 master vol on my tube monster pedal. it just started all of a sudden.

Okay brother, take a good look at your input jack.....is it constant or intermittent? Does the volume knobs affect it? I.e.,turning up or down causes noise....

Okay,so we’ve got ruled out the amp, right? Everything looks as it should it the cavity,so, I have to go with Thump on this. Check all yer solder points to make sure no cold soldering shenanigans are going on.
For a bit of reference,though....my pickups are not potted at all and do bring on some noise if my hands completely leave the guitar...what type pickups do y’all have in the ole girl?
