Hello guys! This question have been on my mind a lot recently. I have a 71 SG Standard and it has that classic 60's type neck.. But how has the neck shape changed from 66-71? Has it been the same? Has it become thinner? or fatter? I heard some are baseballbat necks and some are pencil necks.

Between the years you mention, the neck shape changed over and over again -- and not only with model year changes. My 61-62 LP SG Standard has a very wide, thin neck. Later models would see the neck thickened and the width decreased -- perhaps in reaction to the number of neck breaks on the earlier SGs. But all that I happened to pick up that were of these model years seemed to have thicker and less wide necks compared to mine -- to one degree or another.
