"Any of you fu**ing pricks move, and ill execute every fu**ing last one of you!!!"
I get it, but Brian May? I mean "red special" isn't a name, it's a description of a home-made guitar without a manufacturer or a model.
"The old lady" is what others called it because he always had it & never used anything else.
I saw Tommy Shaw open up his concert in front of me last year wit h that same black striped Les APul .. awesome color ,, Styx are the best !!!
Yes .. I know that place ,,,,,,marriage !!
I own thirty or so Les Pauls not all gibsons, but thirty single cut guitars and only have named one, the one after its owner, my band mate who passed away in 1999, I was with him when he bought the guitar in 1982, its a les Paul Custom called Porky. 15 years after he passed away his widow sent me his guitar that had been sitting in a closet or under a bed, not being played.
Also known as "Fireplace" at times too. But yeah, not all named guitars have human names, but... a name is a name I guess. I mean, he's not just calling it "the red guitar"... but even without May on that list, it's still a heckuva list.
I bought a tele blue floral 1969 reissue. I called it "burny" because the first song I played on it was r.l. burnsides "jumper on the line". Two days later I bought a "burny" sustainer. I can't stop calling the tele burny now! I think I will call the "burny" "tele"!
"Fireplace" would be a good name for any of mine when I get in that funk, my fingers and brain won't cooperate and the guitar would sound better in the fireplace...
I have 3LP's and call them 'wine' for the LP studio (profile pic), the '82 for the, uh, 82 custom, and the beauty for the 3 p'up black LP custom. The strat is called batstrat due to the black pickups & guard. The tele is called tele. They're like cats, they don't come when you call but they make nice sounds when you treat them right. I don't talk to them, and really just use those names when telling my buddies which guitar I brought to the gig or recorded the latest crime against music with.
My friend named a strat after his daughter and then couldn't bring himself to sell it when he needed the cash. He sold a 70's deluxe with the original mini-hums instead. Later, back on his feet, he bought another strat that he likes much more ... the other one sits in the closet.
30 les Pauls?
Jesus. How many do you play?
that does it
I'm going to name a guitar "Queen Anne's Revenge" now
Well, let's see. There's the LP, the Strat, the amber Tele, the swamp ash Tele and the hardtail Strat. I also own a hammer that is named hammer and many screwdrivers named screwdriver.
You spelled "Hamer" wrong.
For some of us, holding a guitar close to your body caressing her neck with one hand, her body with the other, it is just like a sensuous slow dance with a beautiful woman. So, BB King called his lady "Lucille". Albert King likewise named his, "Lucy". For those of us who feel the call of the Blues, the feeling is undeniable. Thus I am compelled to give my #1 squeeze a name as well. I call her... Jennifer Lawrence.................................
Well, 9 guitars, 6 les pauls and only one guitar with a name, which of these three do you think is "Ronald"
^Want to try the black one, regardless of name.
I have that same Tacoma. I love it. Haven't named it, but I got it in a similar way you got yours. Also, yours has a nicer back!
Is her hot sister Goldie available?
It's a '73. You know how terrible Norlins are.
