right now I second the Bad Monkey... just gives my amp that thick boost and juice to make it breakup and get dirty quicker... Got a feeling my new Catalinbread SFT might take its place though

Kingsley jester. The three OD modes makes the pedal super versatile. The EQ is excellent. And the boost--unlike the bogner blue--is awesome. And the guts are a work of art.

Channel 3 or 4 on my Mesa Roadster along with Mesa's solo switch. I no longer need an OD pedal. Before that, it was an old 79 MXR Distortion which I still have.

My #2 choice, right there. Very nice unit, lots of tweaking to get it "just right", but damn, when it's dialed in, it's good times!

I haven't tried every OD out there, not by a long shot, but the best I've ever owned, hands-down, is the ETHOS. It will even work as a back-up amp if my rig ever breaks down. Just plug it into the PA, and you're back in business. Like the Blackstone, requires lots of fiddling to get your sound, but once you've got it, you're golden.

My #3 is an old Tube Screamer. I also like the darker sound of the handwired TS units. I'm talking about the 8s and 9s, not the 10s. Might as well get a RAT if you're going to buy a TS10 series.

They really are killer. Hard to find now a days. Mine was in my closet for about 15 years. Lol. That's the only reason its so clean.

I probably paid too much for mine but I found one a couple of weeks ago locally so I grabbed it. It shows its age cosmetically and some IDIOT scratched "AMP" on the output side of the top but it sounds fantastic! No scratch in the pots and they are tight; like a new pedal!

My OD-1 is actually out of the enclosure.
    I "made" a different box...like an idiot.
    But it is still functional.

I was lucky. I found mine used @ Samash in 1989 for $15. I didnt like it at first and bought a digitech. (Talk about stupid). I forgot about it until I saw it in Feb. I don't know what I was thinking. Then again, I was only 14 at the time.
