He's the subtle one....
For which one? My Jet City, JCM800 from 82 or my Fender Super Champ from 82?
Jet City. about 5 days
JCM 800 about 4 days
Super Champ 28 days..
Now there's a line up for ya...
how bad is it killing you to have to wait 30 days for that fender?
Yeah, I want that Super Champ.. At the same time.. I got other projects to get done. Like my studio 15 cabinet in the works and the faceplate flip. Which BTW I had Sandy on the phone yesterday talking about the faceplate. Seems like a pretty simple process for her. I am having 2 made. One flipped and one regular so i can convert back if I want to. She is a great person to work with... Highly recommended for stuff like this.
So when you flip the chassis, will your pots all work backwards? I have been under the assumption that the amp is new enough that the pots will be soldered to the board, and thus difficult to flip.
No you just set the knobs in a different position.
Edit: hmmm now that I think about it... I'm not sure, I am trying to picture it in my head.
Edit:edit: yeah I think I am right, you just change the knob position. Man you made me question myself 6 different times on that one
My point is that the pot will still sweep the same way, so even if you flip the knob, 1 will be 10 and 10 will be 1. It's breaking my brain....
No, the pots are unaffected. All that changes is the numbers on the face plate. Clockwise is always clockwise. Circles are not affected by position.
1 world's only be 1 if that's what the faceplate says. Lol and since he is getting a reversed faceplate 1 will now be 10. BTW this is a total pothead discussion we are having right now.
DuDe, The answer is right in front of your pot stained finger tips.. The amp goes from 10 to 20...
Can I like this twice????
"Give up the drugs man.. it's eating your brain".. (Robert Di Nero Good Fellars)
See it now?
See what? I get how it works!
it's just a matter of changing the knobs position then all will read well in the world!
I'll tell you what I don't get though, and how I'm Marshall 4010 fits in a standard Marshall 50 watt headshell?
It's the same size chassis as this. What confuses you? See, and that's a 100 watt. The chassis extends INSIDE the cab... The 50 does not.
I'm just messing with you man.. don't get serious on me...
because the head cab that it's mounted in doesn't look like that one.
But that is how a 100 and a 50 work in the same size cabinet. I haven't seen the one coming so I do not know what that cabinet is from. Come to think of it. I kinda like that cabinet that it's in. Not so huge and will fit on any speaker cabinet...
Is it down to 2 days now? I am weirdly excited to hear what you think.
Well let's update this. Its the 19th. I should get the Jet City today. Should be fun cause with my Studio 15 all apart I actually have nothing but my Fender Mini to play on. I do have a Marshall 9100 power amp and JMP-1 but that's in boxes...
My Fender Super Champ is still a long way off..
But the good news is I sold the 1982 JCM 800 to Mike and he will be getting that Tuesday. I'll let him tell you about that. He is already making plans.. Its a good one.
