    Hi
I have got a friedman runt 20 head.
    Calling all other Runt-owners...
What surprises me is the switch !
the clean channel active shows RED light on the switch.
the dirt channel active - switch-light is off.
ODD for me ... it is the same at other runt or BE users???
    Anyway...

it is a great amp. I also checked the PT20 but I was thinking I
wd prefer a 2 channel amp. Both are killer sounding amps.
I run the runt 20 with a 2x12 Marshall box loaded with 2 Eminence Red Fang 12".

I love my PT20, but it only goes to 10; your Runt goes to 11.

    CONGRATS on a fantastic score.

Are you getting rid of the Marshall 2x12?
The Friedman 1x12's are great...a used Bogner Cube would be killer, Mesa 1x12's, Avatar...

    Well then sweet!!
I would scour around for a used Bogner Cube then.... should be able to find one around 300 bucks. I played through one not even broken in and was like geez.

Friedman makes a great amp. I am going to be pulling the trigger on a Mini Dirty Shirley on Black Friday. Hoping that two things happen.
    1) GC has their annual 20% off coupon
    2) They allow me to use it on the Dirty Shirley.
GC is notorious for their enormous list of “not included” brands when they have these sales. If Friedman is on the excluded list I will be calling Sweetwater and asking them to match GC at the 20% off. One way or another I will be getting a Dirty Shirley Mini and I won’t be paying full retail price for it.

Yes, we played a gig a few weeks ago and the guitarist in the other band was playing a Mini Dirty Shirley. Sounded so damn good. Thick and punchy while staying articulate. After the show ended I asked the guy if I could play through it. Fired up my Les Paul and let her rip. I only played that amp for like 10 minutes but I don’t think I have ever had more fun playing an amp before. I have been playing for 35 years and I have owned tons of amps but that DSM blew my mind. Absolutely nailed that thick JTM45 Billy Gibbons sound in my head. I knew right then I had to have it. Been saving and sold off some other stuff in order to acquire it. My wife does not share my enthusiasm for guitar gear so I need to pull this off under the radar. As of today I am within $100 of being able to pull the trigger. It will be one of those “lifetime” amps. Once I get it I don’t plan to sell it. Of course I have said that before.

There is a LOT to like about the Dirty Shirley Mini. I paired mine with a Marshall 2061CX Handwired cabinet, and it is incredible. With the gain structure switch in the middle, you have a JTM style gain, from clean to grit. Flip the switch to the down position, and it's a lot like a Plexi (to my ears), and flipping it to the up position is like a hot-rodded JCM-800. With the Marshall cab, if you stand about 10 feet away from it, that's where the magic happens; the sound is at ear level there. Maybe its me, maybe its my guitars, maybe its the settings on my pedals, but the treble knob seems very sensitive; too much, and it's piercing. I have to be away from the amp to get the full aural picture, which is a little inconvenient with the back and forth.

Regardless of any minor complaints, I really, really like the amp. A Deluxe Reverb Reissue and a Tweed Champ, and my amp world is complete.
