A little over a year ago I sold off most of my old Amps. In every band lately, I had been strictly singing and they were all older, somewhat delicate amps, not too road worthy, and I don't record with them, so I moved them on. All the new owners are happy, and they aren't just collecting dust around here anymore.

Then I get an invite to try out for a side project where I will be primarily rhythm guitar. Borrowed a Deluxe for the audition and now I'm in. Since my Champ can't hang with a real drummer, I needed something.

Found a well-priced minty Rebel 20 on Craigslist. It had been an impulse purchase and the guy hadn't used it much at all.

It has many good tones inside and plenty of punch for 20 watts. Nice and portable too. I can leave a 2x12 at the rehearsal space and I have a 1x12 here at home. I have not yet found all my favorite sounds yet, but the 6L6 side turned up loud and just a little gain sounds like my old Bassman cranked, but at much more bearable volume.

I think I'm going to be happy with it.
