    Gawd!

My stripped R6 has a bit of flame going. And after seeing these pics I'm so tempted to shoot Kim an email and have it finished in tobacco burst and route for humbs.

I need to stay away from this thread!

I've said this before, but I am extremely lucky to get to go to the shop, talk to the guys (and girls) there, and see these guitars in person. As good as pictures of Makeovers look, these guitars still look even better in person. There is just so much vibrance and depth in the paint jobs. Truely a work of art.

I was among the skeptical at first... After seeing these guitars in person I knew I had to have (at least) one of mine done. I realize what I am looking for not everyone else is but this has been a fun journey and I can't wait to bring the guitar home and play her again. It is my hope that this thread, and others like it, inspire people who are one the fence, like I was, to take the leap. It's definitely worth it! Kim's a great guy, real laid back, and very knowledgeable.

Took a break for the weekend... I don't have the guitar back so I can't do any videos at the moment...

I would like so much to sse it with real checkings and aging, it would look terrific.

What are the pick ups in this model?

I put electric city rd59 low winds with thobak pickup covers in it. Normally it has custombuckers.

That guitar looks BEAUTIFUL as is! As for pickups, I would stick with the CBs. But hey, you have been right on all your choices for this guitar so far.

Are they waiting for the Nitro to finish curing/gassing off before you get it back?. I'd be going nuts if it were mine. I get antsy if I can't play my dark burst at least 90 minutes a day. I'd be a complete nut ball waiting this long seeing it but not playing it

Called Kim today to check on the status. Nothing further has been done. The paint is still curing. Kim and I spoke, and the decision was made to leave it as is and go back later to do any aging, like one of the above suggestions. I just have to figure out when I can make it to Orlando again. Planning on making the trip around the 15th of September to take the family to Disney and might pick it up on the way home.

Awesome. Better than it was before. I agree that you should age it. :)

This thread reminds me of all the threads that I used to see about the bloomfields. Goldies, rossington's, etc... Where people would act like the run of (insert trendy limited run guitar here) is far superior to any other historic/custom shop Gibson even though all the specs are pretty much the same

Personally I don't think CC or signature models are superior, they are supposed to be different and closer to 1 specific model.
Then, if someone wants to spend twice the price on an historic model because it is a sig, then so be it. that doesn't make it a better guitar.

Yep, without the aging, it's a good regular darkburst R9... not a perry burst
    IMO
