I posted these pix in the other Roadworn thread - but figured I'd start a new thread as well. This guitar is great. The Nitro finish is very nicely done, the aging is pretty darn good (for the money), and the neck feels amazing. The Tex Mex pickups sound great as well. Here she is, along w/ my Fender Jag. This is the first Strat I've ever really liked. And I more than like it - I love it.

I think the body and pickguard aging looks pretty good...the fretboard aging is kinda "meh"... :D

I've heard they are wonderful players, and I can't wait to get my hands on one at my local GC, just try one out.

    Congrats on your purchase!

I agree w/ the Fretboard - that is the only lowpoint for me. I think that eventually it'll wear in and look "right" though. If not, I can work it a little bit myself.

Sounds great and plays great, though.

I have officially ventured to the "dark side." I thought that Dennis would have been proud of me. :(

Diceman, I actually just saw a Road Worn Tele and Strat today. They look way better in real life than the pictures you posted. I like it! Congrats! That is a beautiful Strat. You must love it. Also, the neck wear doesn't look the same when you see it for real. So, we can't really tell how cool it looks. Trust me, for those who haven't seen one of these guitars yet, they are sweet! Nice guitar diceman, enjoy!!!

Pretty nice. Just don't wash your hands before you play. That'll even out that fingerboard. :laugh2:

I saw one today at Sam Ash.

Pretty much that same price as an American.
While a beat to crap strat is cool. (trust me i'm going to beat mine to crap) I'd wanna do it myself.
That way each bruise has a story.

    Hugo - thanks, I agree!

DJ - I can see the fretboard darkening some already.

Bill - Its about the same price as a Highway One. I played one, didn't care for it too much (the finish was nice enough, though). Most of the American strats in that lower price range are Poly finish. I'll pass. As for the artificial aging - I've got 2 guitars that are 40+ years old - both of them have a million marks and dings that I didn't put there myself. The mojo is there, and they are both nicer guitars than anything you can buy new today. I know what you're saying - every mark on my R8 is one that I put there - but that doesn't mean that I can't appreciate a beat up guitar for what it is - vintage or not. As compared to one brand new on the wall, the Roadworn feels much better to me - it has a vintage feel just like my vintage guitars do.

Nah the mojo is definately there.
Didn't know that about the Americans.
I just wanna tell the story.

Congrats on the new guitar! Looks good! I'm sure the fretboard will change after you play it for a few months :thumb:
